Israeli cellist Chagit Glaser made her debut at the age of 14, playing Tchaikovsky Rococo variations with the Beer Sheva Sinfonietta Orchestra, and has been performing regularly ever since. Isaac Stern, who later invited her to play with him on his 65th birthday gala concert in Carnegie Hall, recognized her talent. Ms. Glaser has performed as a soloist with the following orchestras, among others: the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, the Frankfurt Academy of Music Orchestra in Germany, the Jupiter Symphony Orchestra in New York, and the Fontainebleau Music Festival Chamber Orchestra. She has collaborated with artists such as Pinkus Zuckerman, Mark Neikrug, Shlomo Mintz, and Lukas Foss, and has participated in numerous national and international festivals, including the Israeli Baroque Festival, the Isaac Stern Project for Young Musicians in Israel, and the Rolandseck Festival in Germany. Ms. Glaser has performed on major stages around the world including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Alte Oper in Frankfurt, and St. Martin in the Fields in London. She has played in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C.

Ms. Glaser began playing the cello at age 8, and received her first award from the America Israel Culture Foundation at the age of 10. She has been a regular recipient of the award ever since. She has been first prizewinner of the Clairmont Competition in Tel Aviv for eight consecutive years and was a first prizewinner of the Joachim Stochevsky Cello Competition in 1993. In 1994, she received the prestigious Nori grant from the American Israel Culture Foundation. Ms. Glaser participated in the 2001 and 2002 Fontainebleau Music Festival, winning the coveted Best Performer Award both years. While there, she was discovered by conductor and pianist, Philippe Entremont, performed with him and played as a soloist under his baton and has plans to perform with him in the future.

Ms. Glaser began her studies with Israeli cellist Shmuel Magen in Jerusalem and continued with cellist Uzi Wiezel in Tel-Aviv. Recognized as a unique talent by the Israeli Army, she did her military service as a musician and later enrolled in the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv. After receiving her Bachelor of Music degree, Ms. Glaser moved to New York to pursue her studies at the Juilliard School, earning her Master of Music degree. Studying with Zara Nalsova and Harvey Shapiro she then completed the Juilliard Professional Studies Program, and proceeded on to a second professional studies program with Timothy Edy at the Mannes College of Music in New York.

Performing extensively throughout the United States as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, Ms. Glaser has played full-time with the Jupiter Symphony as both Co-Principal and soloist and has studied with Jens Nygaard. She is regularly called upon to play as a principal cellist in numerous orchestras, including Jupiter Symphony in New York, Lyric Theatre in New Jersey, the NYU Opera Chamber Orchestra, and the Manhattan Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra..

She is frequently invited to play in Israel and Europe . Miss Glaser has performed this last September in the "Indian River Festival" in Canada and was also envited to return and perform again next season and give master classes there as well. Ms. Glaser started the Incarnation Center Chamber Music Festival in Ivoryton, CT, and serves as its director, conductor and principal teacher. She is a regular performer in the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players Concert Series and the Philharmonio Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra- Chamber Music Series .

Recently, Ms Glaser has become a faculty member of the Mannes College of Music in New York, teaching Cello and Chamber music.

Curently, Ms. Glaser is invited to perform and teach at the Cello Festival in Rio, Brazil, in the upcoming August and is also invited to perform in Berlin this upcoming July.
